I spend vast quantities of time developing—an all-inclusive term which encompasses outlining, writing and editing lessons; creating support material (graphic and Flash examples); and developing problem sets and solutions to accompany them. Oh, yes, there's also the teaching, answering questions and grading the aforementioned exercises in an on-line classroom.
In the rare interstices between writing about programming, teaching it and doing it, I can usually be found learning something (anything from history and art to yet another programming language); beading (seedbeads); doodling letterforms and alien flora; feeding one of my three rescue kitties; cooking; writing short SF for challenges; reading; and searching for a TARDIS and the elusive DustMuncher, a nanomachine that is content to eat dust and cat hair. In lieu of the latter, I would settle for a brownie or free house elf, the former to be lavished with milk or the latter to be adorned with as many socks as his or her little heart desires.
Also on Live Journal as Aranthe, where I post some of my beading projects and an occasional thought. I do have a web site, but the poor thing has a serious case of Jurassic fever. I know, I know. And one of these days, maybe I'll find that TARDIS or locate my round tuit.
